NASHVILLE, TN - The Nashville Sounds have announced that they will add 10 more games to the remaining of 2021 season. The 10 games was added following the decision from Minor League Baseball and Major League Baseball to have a brand new Triple-A postseason format called "Triple-A Final Stretch".

The Sounds has scheduled five away games and five home games following the final series of the season at the Gwinnett Strippers. They will first host the Columbus Clippers at First Horizon Park in a five-game series on September 22-26.

They will finish the season on the road against the Indianapolis Indians in a five-game series on Sept. 29 until Oct. 3. These games was originally rescheduled from the postponed games of 2021 season, and later added to the Triple-A Final Stretch as a postseason tournament.

The 2021 Triple-A East and West Regular Season Champion will be named based on overall winning percentage of the regular season excluding the Final Stretch games. Among the 30 teams in the league, a Triple-A Final Stretch champion will be crowned to the team with the highest winning percentage during the 10-games stretch at the end of the season.

The winner will then receive a prize from the Major League Baseball. The goal for this new postseason format is for all 30 teams to experience the postseason and all will have the same opportunity to win the tournament.

“We think this format will add excitement to the end of the season while also allowing our teams a chance to reschedule games that were lost earlier in the year.” said MLB SVP, Minor League Operations and Development, Peter Woodfork.
