NASHVILLE, TN — Nashville Software School has named Jeremy Bakker as their new director of learning programs. Bakker will improve existing programs and enhance new courses to meet the current demand of the industry.

Bakker offers his decade-long experience in education and four years in machine learning and data engineering at Eventbrite, a global self-service ticketing platform. “This critical role was created in response to the growth of NSS as we strive to meet the increased demands for skilled tech talent in Nashville. Jeremy and his team will be actively keeping a pulse on the job market both to identify needs for new programs as well as to evolve our current programs,” says John Wark, CEO of Nashville Software School.

Bakker is a graduate of NSS Web Development Cohort 18, focusing on the fundamentals of full-stack software. Those skills have helped his role as an engineering manager for machine learning and data engineering.

Before his role at Eventbrite, he worked as a lecturer at Yale Divinity School in New Haven, Connecticut. He also worked as adjunct faculty, designing and facilitating graduate-level courses in New Testament history, language and literature at The General Theological Seminary in New York.

Bakker has various educational backgrounds. He holds a Ph.D. in religion/religious studies, a master’s degree in arts and a master’s degree in philosophy from Yale University.
