Richmond, VA – Steven Oliver, a 43-year-old resident of Richmond, was handed a 235-month prison sentence for his involvement in a drug trafficking organization. Oliver was found guilty of distributing fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine, as well as unlawfully possessing three firearms.

According to court documents, Oliver played a pivotal role in a larger drug trafficking network operating within the Richmond area. The illicit activities spanned from June 2020 to January 2023, during which Oliver trafficked substantial amounts of fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine. Specifically, between April and November 2022, he distributed over 175 grams of fentanyl, some of which was deceptively marketed as heroin. Additionally, Oliver was found to be in possession of approximately 14.5 kilograms of heroin with the intent to distribute during the same period. Law enforcement learned that, prior to his arrest in 2023, Oliver had received around 750 grams of heroin from his supplier for distribution in 2021 and 2022.

The legal proceedings culminated in a search warrant executed on Oliver's residence on January 11, 2023. The search revealed that Oliver, despite being a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing firearms, unlawfully owned three firearms: a Del-Ton multi-caliber pistol, a Ruger 5.7x28 caliber pistol, and a Rock Island Armory revolver. Alongside the firearms, various types of ammunition were also discovered. The search further uncovered additional quantities of cocaine and fentanyl, indicating the extent of Oliver's involvement in illegal drug distribution.

The severity of Oliver's crimes led to a lengthy prison sentence of 235 months, reflecting the court's commitment to addressing drug-related offenses and illegal firearm possession.
