BBQ Was Not my Favorite

I am not a fan of any barbecue sauce, nor did I like cornbread until I tasted Lizzie’s Memphis Style BBQ meals. Do you know those places that are always on point with their recipes and never disappoint you? That’s Lizzie’s Memphis Style BBQ for me. The first time I tried Lizzie’s was when my son ordered from this place. Since he was undecided on what to buy, he ordered one of each of the pulled pork, ribs, chicken, turkey, and brisket—plenty for a few days of no cooking. Boy, were we in for a delicious treat.

Entrées

Each meal comes with your choice of meat, two sides, and honey butter cornbread. First, the size is plenty for two people—at least for me, it is. Then again, it is so delicious, you can’t stop eating it. The meat is always tender, juicy, very well-seasoned, and tasty. The BBQ is not overbearing and allows you to savor the natural juices of the meat. Their sides include fries, tater tots, corn, sweet potato, green beans, potato salad, macaroni salad, coleslaw, BBQ beans, Mac & Cheese, Collard Greens. Did I miss any of them? I have to say there is not one that I dislike, but my favorite is the potato salad and coleslaw. Also, the cornbread is superb. The best I’ve had ever. Remember when I mentioned I did not like cornbread? Well, if it’s from Lizzie’s, I’m all in.

Desserts

They also have desserts. I have not tried their desserts—not that I could fit it in after a plentiful meal. But they have banana pudding, chocolate chip cookies, apple pie, cheesecake, brownies, and pecan pie. I’m sure they are as good as the entrees, so please try them too.

Lizzie’s Service

So far, with ordering online, the service has been top-notch. I am not talking about the delivery service, but about the restaurant service itself. The food presentation is always appealing to the eye, with nice clean and presentable cuts. So far, they have missed nothing from our orders—always accurate. We appreciate that.

Is it Worth the Price?

Lizzie’s prices are high, but you get your money’s worth. Therefore, we don’t mind splurging on Lizzie’s Memphis Style BBQ at least once a month.

A Mother's Day Reflection from a Grieving Mother

Mother’s Day is this Sunday. I don’t have to look at a calendar to know that the feelings I’ve been having these past few days are a product of grief. I look at my beautiful daughter and as I listen to her speak, I can’t help but feel so proud of the beautiful young lady we’ve raised. A smart girl who graduated from college with a successful life. Dreams that Comfort and are Full of Sorrow Too

I had a dream. It involved my husband and three children. In the dream, my children were still young—about 9, 8, and 7 years old. They looked just as they did back then. My oldest, Richie, who passed away, was just as curious and extroverted. My daughter with her big sweet cheeks and a tremendous appetite; and my youngest was his loving and hyper self. I do not remember what the dream really was about. I love seafood so it was a big yes to celebrate a member of our party's birthday at Crazy Crab at 8701 W Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy, Kissimmee 34747. Not knowing what to expect, we reserved a table just in case the restaurant had a waiting list as it often occurs. It surprised us to find the restaurant was almost empty. Feeling Overwhelmed by the Amount of Telemarketing, Scamming, and Fraudulent Calls?

Nowadays I need to go to extreme measures to avoid certain situations. In my case, it is regarding phone calls. I have had enough of the daily telemarketers, scammers, and fraudulent calls. It gets to where it is one call after the other. Sometimes for the same reason and the calls come in from different numbers, different states, and/or countries! I have received calls from Luxembourg, China, Russia. I do not know anyone in these countries! I have never been to these countries. Most of the time it is a recorded message, which makes it more frustrating.

Teaching Your Elderly Parents about Technology

When my elderly father was in town, he stayed with me for three months. He is slow-paced in his ways but then again, he’s 81-years-old. Dad is quite smart and even though he is not too knowledgeable about the latest technology, once he learns, he is unstoppable. A few months ago, he discovered YouTube. It was miraculous for him. As an avid gardener, he began researching anything and everything regarding gardening. Every time I called him, he would give me lessons on how to fertilize this, how to water that, and so on.

Dragging Our Feet through the Perils of Walmart with an Elder

I took my dad to Walmart. I don’t shop at Walmart and avoid it at all costs. If I need anything from Walmart, I order it online and have it delivered. It has worked fine. Therefore, when my 81-year-old father asked me to take him to Walmart, I cringed but took him, anyway. My idea was to drop him off at the entrance and let him shop while I waited in my car. Then I thought about how dangerous it could be for him. Sort of like a baby crawling between a buffalo stampede, so I decidef to go in with him.

Why Do Some People Hold a Grudge But Very Little Admit to It? (Opinion)

Do you hold a grudge against someone? If so, how does it make you feel? Does it do anything to the person you are holding a grudge against?. I ask these questions because the topic has come up a few times within social gatherings. Everyone who commented on the subject claims not holding a grudge. They also mentioned having no contact with the person who did them wrong. It is a topic that engages a lot of people with different opinions. Since I have no particular people in mind, I will name them “the Grudger” as the one holding a grudge; and “the Grudgee” as the one who committed the offense.
