Can You Be a Pie-Eating Champion? Test Your Competitive Chops at Marietta's HarvestFest


Everyone loves a good pie, but do your pie eating skills rise to the championship level?

If so -- or if you just want to test your gluttonous limits -- you might want to register for the second annual pie eating contest at Marietta's HarvestFest. The event is scheduled Saturday, October 15, 2022, and the deadline for online registration is October 7.

The event will feature two age brackets. Mini-munchers ages six to 12 can test their pie-consuming capabilities. An open category allows all contestants ages 13-and-over to get their faces and stomachs deep into the competition. Registration is free and open to participants ages six and older.

Sponsored in conjunction with Marietta's hometown Pie Bar, contestants will be supplied with pumpkin pies eight inches in diameter. The pies will be made by Pie Bar from all purpose flour, canned pumpkin, eggs, light brown sugar, salt, evaporated milk, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice, unsalted butter, graham cracker crumbles, light brown sugar, heavy cream, vanilla, and powdered sugar. Contestants are responsible for considering any allergy or dietary restrictions prior to entry.

First, second and third place winners will be recognized and receive awards from Pie Bar, including:

  • First Place - A gift certificate for a whole Sweet Pie, a Pie Bar t-Shirt, a Pie Bar mug, and a card for "Free Cup of Coffee.
  • Second Place - a Pie Bar t-Shirt, a Pie Bar mug, and a card for "free cup of coffee.
  • Third Place - 1 Pie Bar t-Shirt and a gift card for a "free slice of pie.
