"On May 23, 2022, Governor Jared Polis signed a new law to give Coloradans a tax rebate of $750 for individual filers and $1,500 for joint filers this summer. This law will provide immediate relief to Coloradans by sending you a check this summer instead of spring of 2023, and we at the Colorado Department of Revenue are working hard to make sure that you get the right tax refund amount as soon as possible. If you've already filed your Colorado state income tax return, you're all set! You will receive your Colorado Cash Back check by September 30, 2022," the state's Department of Revenue said in a statement.
Additionally, according to the state's Department of Revenue, for those who have received an extended tax filing deadline of October 17, 2022, the tax rebate check will be sent out later, and they should be received by January 31, 2023.
The refunds will be issued as a check in the mail to all tax filers. The reason for that being they don't have people's bank account information, and it's the best and easiest way for them to get the money into people's hands as quickly as possible.
If you do not receive your stimulus and you believe you should have, you will be able to contact a call center.
"Our goal is to make sure we have the staff to be able to answer. There might be some wait time as the checks start to go, but our commitment is to continue to ensure that we can answer people's questions and support them in getting their checks," says Colorado Department of Revenue Executive Director Mark Ferrandino.
