LA County reissued the new mask mandate on July 17th, only a mere month after declaring that vaccinated individuals can have their masks off indoors. It's infuriating officials and leading to angry denunciations as local leaders demand resignations and are threatening to cut all ties and form their own public health departments.

According to an article on CNBC by Robert Towey:

"From Los Angeles to Massachusetts, local officials across the country are pleading with Americans to once again wear masks inside as the delta variant rips through the U.S. Several counties across California and Nevada are now advising all residents to wear masks in public indoor settings — whether they are vaccinated or not. Local leaders in at least three more states have reinstated mask mandates, issued facial covering recommendations or threatened the return of strict public health limits for all residents — in defiance of federal health guidelines that say vaccinated people don’t have to follow those protocols in most settings."

Even the White House has continued to insist vaccinated individuals do NOT need not wear masks, and yet the new requirement is for everyone to wear masks regardless of vaccination status.

L.A. County consists of over 10 million residents and in most of these places, local officials have had it.

“We have had enough of these policies! We demand that you stop this one-size-fits-all approach to health and health outcomes,” elected officials from a half-dozen towns including El Segundo, Torrance and Manhattan Beach wrote this week in a letter to their local county supervisor. “We implore you to modify this recent order, engage with us, and set a policy that better reflects the unique context of our area.”
