Mexican Sonora Food Tour with Mark Wiens in Phoenix!!

Next, we drove to Mi Lindo Michoacan Mexican Corral, where we’d get some carnitas! It’s the best place for carnitas in Phoenix. Mark’s picture is even up in their window! In the kitchen, they let me try the carnitas, skin, and stomach straight out of the vat of meat. It was so good and melted in my mouth! First, we jumped on the nopales chalupa, which contains cactus, carnitas, and cheese, with spicy sausages on the side. The nopales had a bit of a slimy texture and were cheesy with a bit of a pickled flavor. I’d never had it before! We also had carnitas tacos at our table with Carlos. You should add a combination of the carnitas, ribs, and stomach to your tortilla, as well as the pickled onions, and salsa. The soft tortilla and rich pork were unreal, and adding the vegetables added some freshness. They were some of the best tacos of my life! The skin was the best!
