Look out, Denver. Another regional sandwich franchise is making its way to Colorado in 2022.
This time, it's PrimoHoagies, a casual franchise that started in New Jersey and sells Italian speciality sandwiches on freshly baked hoagie rolls.
According to 9News, the franchise's expansion in Denver is part of an 18-restaurant expansion that also includes Florida, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Currently, PrimoHoagies has all of its 79 locations throughout the East Coast, from Florida to New Jersey.
This expansion is the franchise's first moves west of the Mississippi, and multiple Denver locations are in its plans. After this expansion, PrimoHoagies plans to continue expanding nationwide.
PrimoHoagies will continue riding the recent wave of formerly local, fast casual sandwich chains expanding into Colorado. 2021 saw the arrival Capriotti's Sandwich Shop to the Denver area with its single Highlands Ranch location. Chicago's Buona Beef also opened up inside Milepost Zero at McGregor Square with its first location outside of Illinois.
Adding to the local sandwich wars are two cult favorite burger restaurants. As polarizing as its popularity can be for some, In-N-Out has continued to expand in Colorado with its recent Lakewood and upcoming Castle Rock locations. Shake Shack will be opening another location in Greenwood Village on Arapahoe Road later this year.
If you're a transplant or a fan of PrimoHoagies, add a comment to let other readers know what to get at PrimoHoagies before their sandwiches land in Denver next year.
