A new shortcut called S-GPT has arrived, and it's turning heads.
Developed by Federico Viticci, the advanced conversational shortcut allows integration of ChatGPT into the native system features of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and watchOS. This free-to-use shortcut (with an OpenAI pay-as-you-go billing plan) was built with the latest ChatGPT API and takes advantage of OpenAI's developer API.
The integration is seamless, as seen from the screenshots provided by Viticci, which show S-GPT popping up like a Siri notification.
It supports conversational mode and can retain the context of previous conversations, allowing users to view each conversation as a single transcript. According to Viticci, this was an attempt to move beyond the standard trivia and poetry responses.
S-GPT is incredibly versatile, as it can perform tasks like creating custom playlists on the Music app.
After you provide the names of specific artists, S-GPT passes back a list of songs to S-GPT and asks you to name the playlist. When you go to the Music app, the playlist will be waiting for you.
The promise of this new shortcut is impressive, and it highlights Apple's shortcomings in the AI race. Apple has yet to make any moves towards AI, let alone create a platform like Google Bard or ChatGPT. With S-GPT, Viticci has stepped up and given users what they want.
