Advent Calendars: A Fun Way of Counting Down

There is a slew of fresh, exciting, and out-of-the-box approaches to keeping track of the days till Christmas for those who enjoy advent calendars.

Bring one of these to Thanksgiving dinner and you can be sure that the receiver will be enjoying everyday delights all month long, from the affordable impulse buy to the splurge.

Alcohols

For the holidays, Vinebox has designed a special edition box including 12 Nights of Women Winemakers. Two artists were hired to create the 2021 boxes for the brand, and they selected women-owned European wineries. Sommeliers chose the wines for the limited-edition boxes: four white wines (two of which are Rosé), two Rosé, and six red. ($129)

In addition to the Bourbon and American Whiskey, Premium Gin, and Japanese Whiskey calendars, The Spirit Company offers a broad variety of alcoholic products. Small-batch distilleries and well-known brands are included among the samples, which come in lovely wax-sealed 30-milliliter (approximately 1-ounce) drams. From $40 to $300, depending on the model you choose.

Space-themed Flaviar's Whiskies of the Galaxy Advent calendar. Small-batch bourbons and single malts from Japan and Israel, as well as some true stars from Scotland and Ireland, are included in the calendar's selection of 24 premium whiskies. It's time for the puppies and kittens to get into the festive spirit! Sugarwish lets the receiver customize a gift basket with up to 12 of their favorite dog treats. There are human-friendly versions of the company's products, but the selection of nibbles here, from cheesy goldfish to liver lover hearts, is geared specifically at pets. ($77)

Sweets are the best kind of food

A Holiday Ornament Advent Calendar is available from Maison Du Chocolat. This French-made stuffed ornament contains 24 individually wrapped chocolates, including fruity confections, dark chocolate pralines, and more. Eco-friendliness (100 percent cardboard; recyclable; $75) is another benefit.

The French jam-making firm Bonne Maman, which has been around for 50 years, has released a new Advent calendar. 24 little jars of fruit spreads and honey are included in the box, which opens to reveal a charming winter town picture. Plum and pear with star anise, wild blueberry with lemon balm, and cherry with hibiscus flower are just a few of the flavor combinations available. ($34.99)

Consider the Williams-Sonoma Mandalorian candy Advent calendar ($39.95) for the Star Wars geek in your life. It has iconic candies like chocolate balls and gummy frogs.

Laduree's Advent calendar this year bears a striking resemblance to a lunchbox. French candies including nougat, chocolates, and jelly fruits may be found within each of the windows.($65)

The workshop of St. Nick is the setting for Sugarfina's 2021 calendar. Parisian pineapples, Bellini peaches, birthday cake caramels, and matcha bears abound in this confectioner's paradise. ($55)

Copper Cow's 12 Days of Pour Over Advent Calendar includes 12 different pour-over coffees and creamers. Seasonal coffees and flavored creamers may be found in the stylish drawers (including a new mocha one). You'll get salted caramel, pumpkin spice, and cardamom in the reusable gift box. ($69)

With 24 pyramid tea infusers, Tea Forte has released a limited-edition Warming Joy Advent Calendar that includes flavors such as Sweet Orange Spiced Tea and African Solstice. A wonderful way for the tea lover in your life to experiment with fresh flavors. ($59)
