Joining Saint Luke's

Everyone is welcome to worship at Saint Luke’s. We offer a great Newcomers program designed to welcome anyone to Saint Luke’s. It includes an orientation session, a dinner, and culminates with a welcome Liturgy service.

Newcomers Orientation and Luncheon

We are planning to offer a Luncheon and Orientation on October 3rd at 12:30pm in the Anderson Youth and Community Center (AYCC), followed by a Newcomer Reception on October 27th at 6:30 PM at the Rectory. The official welcome service will be on November 7th, during our regular worship services at either 8AM, 10AM or 5PM.

Transferring Membership

Additionally, if you wish to transfer your Church Membership to Saint Luke’s, please contact your previous church and have the paperwork forwarded to Saint Luke’s. If transferring, we encourage you to attend the Newcomers events so we can welcome you to the Saint Luke’s community. Mask-optional policy approved in Darien schools starting Feb. 28

The Board of Education officially voted to have masks be optional in all Darien schools beginning Feb. 28. Superintendent Alan Addley cited declining cases of Covid-19 over the past month, increased student, teacher, and staff vaccination rates and less severe symptoms of the virus as reasons for the policy change.

Town of Darien Notice - Tree Mediation Update

As of Monday, December 13th, Eversource began the tree removals as requested by the Town and should be completed soon. As indicated in our previous update, the removal of the 21 trees already approved for removal by the Tree Warden will allow us a much better perspective on the remaining trees. It is important to show the mediator that we are willing to move forward in good faith, but we shall continue to represent that the Town and its residents are in firm agreement that clear cutting will not be supported. The Landscaping plan is still a work in progress and will be discussed further at upcoming mediation sessions.

Darien First Selectman's Code Red Message - COVID Cases

While the number of new cases is heading in a direction that none of us want to see, the good news is that we have had zero hospitalizations to report since April, and first doses have been given to at least half of those eligible in the 5 to 11 year old age group. We are holding our second dose clinics for this age group over the next two Saturdays, and expect to complete the required vaccinations for at least 750 children over that period of time.
