It's been tough recently for a lot of families who have had to evacuate, especially for seniors who are graduating this year, but Governor Grisham has found a way to celebrate and find joy during the tough times for these seniors: she has hosted prom night at her mansion.
The students are being honored and treated to luxury during these difficult times.
"Seniors have a luxurious week lined up. After Thursday’s dance with the governor, 33 students are slated to graduate Friday during a ceremony at the Eldorado Hotel & Spa in Santa Fe. Many are also being put up in hotel rooms funded by members of the Mora community." —Esteban Candalaria
The outpouring of resources is overwhelming, and it reminds us just how good so many people are at heart.
"Community members also chipped in for prom essentials, including dresses, tuxedos and corsages. The snazzed-up students fit right in with the elegant mansion, which even featured a chocolate fountain for them." —Esteban Candalaria
During some of the toughest experiences, it's heartening to know that the state and the Mora community cares so much about these students and that people can be so generous with their resources in order to make the graduation as special as possible.
Life is never easy, but there can still be some light amidst all of the darkness, and perhaps even some hope can be found among the despair.
I hope everyone is doing as well as they can be right now. I know it is not easy with the fires and the troubling events plaguing the world at large.
Congratulations to the class of 2022!
