Legendary Hollywood actor Dick Van Dyke reportedly suffered minor injuries after he was involved in a car accident early last Wednesday in Malibu, California.
The Accident:
Van Dyke was reportedly driving in Malibu when the accident occurred. At the scene, the 97-year-old actor was found with a silver Lexus crashed into a gate, although the exact course of events that led to the collision is not known at this time.
The legendary "Mary Poppins" actor suffered only "minor injuries" in the accident, according to his spokesperson, and was not transported to the hospital, per CNN. No further details on his condition have been made available at this time.
Van Dyke's Legendary Career:
Dick Van Dyke's accomplished career has spanned several decades and has seen him appear in some of Hollywood's biggest productions, including "Mary Poppins" and "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang," as well as several other notable roles.
He is also beloved by an entire generation for "The Dick Van Dyke Show," which ran on CBS from 1961 to 1966. Over the course of his esteemed career, Van Dyke has also collected four Emmy Awards, One Grammy, and a Tony Award for his role in the production "Bye-Bye Birdie."
Most recently he made an appearance on the Fox show "The Masked Singer," where he became the oldest contestant to appear on the popular singing competition.
