Famed TV Actor Dies Unexpectedly in Los Angeles

The entertainment world is mourning the loss of one of its own this week following the news that famed television actor Lance Reddick, best known for roles in "West Wing," "The Wire," and "Bosch," has died at the age of 60.

Reddick's Death:

Reddick died early Friday morning, his legal representative James E. Hornstein announced in a statement to The Los Angeles Times. He reportedly died of natural causes and no further details have been provided at this time.

Reddick's Career:

Reddick's acting career began after he attended the Peabody Conservatory to study music in his youth, eventually attending the Eastman School of Music in New York and pursuing acting at Yale, where he graduated in 1994.

From there, his career quickly began to blossom. He first landed a role in "New York Undercover" in 1996, before earning several small roles, including on the hit show "West Wing." He took on various roles in "Law & Order" as well before landing his first true marquee role as Lt. Cedric Daniels in the HBO hit "The Wire," where he stayed on all the way until the show's conclusion in 2008.

His most recent role saw him play as Irvin Irving in the show "Bosch," where he starred opposite Titus Welliver, Jamie Hector, and Amy Aquino before its conclusion in 2021.

Reddick's Family:

Reddick is survived by his wife Stephanie and children Yvonne Nicole Reddick and Christopher Reddick.
