Redondo Beach has some hidden gems where you can get some beautiful, one-of-a-kind gifts for great prices.
1. Antique Corral - This antique store is a scene of Alice in Wonderland I somehow overlooked my first few years of living in Redondo. It caught my eye driving home from work on PCH one day, and I decided to go in. It was overwhelming at first, but after looking closely at the art and home decor, I couldn't believe what beautiful stuff I found. So far, I bought a whole espresso cup set for my entire family for Christmas, for only $5.00 each!
This is only one of them; how cute is it? My family adores them (I couldn't help but show them already). In addition to these gorgeous cups, I have also found beautiful coasters for $10, a vintage liquor bottle for $20, and a piece of art for my bedroom for $40. If you're willing to do a little digging past the big neon signs, you're bound to find something someone will love for a reasonable price.
2. Return Style - From designer pieces to cute New Years headbands, this second-hand clothing store is filled with adorable potential gifts. I bring all my friends to this shop when they are in town and they always find something. This year I bought all the women in my family a pair of leather gloves with fur trim on them from this shop because they were only $15 each, and they were all slightly unique which I loved. Just the other day, I found this Zara jacket there for $25. And it's still on their website currently for full price.
All in great condition. The best part? When you download their free app, you accumulate points with every purchase and get coupons. Did I mention they also have brand new jewelry for as low as $2? And just when you thought it couldn't get any better: If you're collecting a bunch of clothes that you don't want anymore and you're too lazy to put online, this is also a great place to sell your own clothes and get store credit or cash for it. It's a win-win.
3. Atomic Junk - Don't judge a book by its store name. This is like if your cool, hip grandmother opened up a shop, and it has all of her coolest stuff in it. Way in the back room, there are charming purses for as low as $12 that are practically brand new. I got one for my best friend for Christmas. There are also very well-kept older vintage toys, an array of crystals, and some great clothing finds.
4. Always Fabulous - Another second-hand clothing store that will blow your mind. This place has purses and pieces that don't have one scratch on them and are to die for. I have found my favorite mini leather black backpack here for around $20 a few years ago that I still wear all the time. They have a room in the back just for shoes. You don't want to miss it. The potential for a cute gift is high.
5. Bui Beauty Bar - This place is the best and most affordable for anything spa-related you want to gift to anyone. And if you're ever feeling down, this place is the place to go. They play K-pop hits, dance, and make you feel like you're at your best friend's house. If you got down and started twerking to the music they'd cheer you on. They can do it all: beautiful design gel manicures, facials, makeup, and massages. And you can gift any of these services to anyone you'd like on their website. A hot stone massage here for 30-minutes is only $30. Run don't walk.
Put on a pair of good walking shoes, grab a cup of coffee at Hi-Fi, and set on your Christmas shopping journey. It's not as fun when you're sitting in front of your computer anyway. Happy hunting.
