NEW ORLEANS, LA – The annual New Orleans Red Dress Run is back. Hit the streets in your favorite red attire from head to toe on August 14 for this charity run.
The New Orleans Red Dress Run has been around for over twenty-five years. Hosted by New Orleans Hash House Harriers (NOH3) – who called themselves a local drinking club with a running problem – it traditionally falls on every second Saturday in August every year.
Before the event, for two days on Thursday (August 12) and Friday (August 13), head down to Deutches Haus at 1700 Moss St to grab your bib, wristband, gimmes, and packet. You can also meet other Red Dress Runners while enjoying a drink or two.
The event opens at 9 a.m., in Crescent Park, followed by lunch, live music, and more. Routes will not be revealed until the day of the event. You can find the full schedule of the event here.
You can watch from the sidelines if you are not interested in running. However, red attire is still required. Both participants and bystanders must be 21 or older.
Online registration is still open until August 7 here for $60 (online processing fee not included). Registration on the day of the Expo is $65, and registration on the day of the run is $70. Only cash is accepted at the park. Registration will include donations, special live music, and beer.
All proceeds will go to small non-profit organizations in the form of grants. Since 2010, they have donated almost $2 million. If you are unable to attend the event but interested in donating, head here.
Until then, stay tuned to New Orleans Red Dress Run Facebook to keep up with the latest happenings.
