NEW ORLEANS, LA — The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a homicide in the 4000 block of Ulloa Street on early Monday, June 28.
The NOPD found one person deceased and another injured at the scene.
At around 4.04 a.m., the NOPD First District received and responded to the area for a call of shots fired. When the NOPD arrived at the scene, the unit discovered one male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
Not long after the first victim, the unit also found a second male victim located near the intersection of Tulane and South Carrollton Avenues. The second victim also suffered from a gunshot wound.
EMS transported the first victim to a local hospital. Soon after arriving, he was pronounced deceased. The second victim was also transported to a local hospital via EMS. He was last listed in stable condition.
Currently, the investigators are in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person who is responsible for the incident. The investigators are also in the process of discovering the motives behind the homicide. However, there are still no additional details available at the moment.
As soon as the Orleans Parish Coroner’s office had completed the autopsy of the first victim, its identity and the official cause of death will be revealed and notified to the family.
