A healthier homemade popcorn recipe.


This crunchy and flavorful popcorn method is lower in fat and salt. It will make anyone want more.

The average serving size of ready-to-eat popcorn is three heaping cups.

This recipe provides 12 heaping cups of popcorn.

Equipment and ingredients.

  • Electric hot air popcorn machine.
  • Large bowl to accommodate 12 cups of popcorn.
  • Small saucepan.
  • Four small bowls to hold three heaping cups of popcorn each.
  • 1/2 cup of white popcorn kernels.
  • 1/8 teaspoon of salt.
  • 1/4 cup of butter.

Step 1

Melting the butter:

  1. Melt butter in a small saucepan on medium to low. A saucepan is easier to control the melting process. (Careful to avoid burning the butter.)
  2. Keep butter hot when pouring over popcorn.
  3. Swirl the pan frequently to keep the melted butter evenly mixed and ready to pour.

Step 2

Creating the popcorn:

  1. Fill hot air popcorn machine with popcorn kernels. Put the bowl in place.
  2. Turn on the machine.
  3. Let 1/3 of popped corn pour into the bowl.
  4. Quickly sprinkle 1/8 teaspoon of salt over popcorn.
  5. Pour a little hot butter over the popcorn and promptly mix with your hands. The rest of the popcorn will continue to pop into the bowl.
  6. Turn the air popper machine off.
  7. Pour the remaining amount of butter over the popcorn.
  8. Mix the entire popcorn mixture with your hands by bringing the bottom part to the top layer.

Enjoy immediately or eat later.

Nutrition facts:

Three cups of ready-made popcorn provide approximately 15 grams of carbohydrate and 4.5 grams of fiber.
