The forgotten Colorado Irish of Evergreen Cemetery

As you drive through the historical Evergreen Cemetery in Leadville, Colorado. You see beautiful well-kept grounds. But towards the back, you will find over 1,400 forgotten Irish men, women, and children from the late 1800s. The graves are deeply sunken because the original pine caskets have long since deteriorated. There are no headstones, just a few wooden markers and iron gates that surround some of the plots. Their stories and names have been lost to time. come with us as we tour the grounds.
