(Colorado Springs, CO) On Saturday, April 29th, the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center will host a free Family Adventure Day from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (10:00 to 11:00 a.m. is for FAC members only).
There will be instructor-led, hands-on art activities in the drawing, painting, and printmaking studios at the Bemis School of Art (upstairs). It is a perfect opportunity to explore the studios and learn more about the art school, which offers classes for children, teens, and adults of all skill levels in painting, drawing, sculpting, knitting, ceramics, and more.
In the music room, guests will have the opportunity to learn choreography from Elf the Musical. There will also be theater games and dance parties. The schedule of events for the theater activities is here.
The Pikes Peak Children's Museum will be on-site with a hands-on activity (tin foil art) in the Smith Family Gallery.
Attendees at Family Adventure Day receive free admission to the museum, a lovely, spacious venue with a permanent exhibit of Chihuly glass. The exhibit's stunning focal piece is the Orange Hornet Chandelier with 384 glass pieces, ranging from 8 inches to three feet. The beautiful display weighs 1200 pounds.
Register for the free event here.
In addition to the upcoming Family Adventure Day, the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center offers free museum admission on the second Saturday and the third Friday of every month.
