(Colorado Springs, CO) Colorado Springs has a new local celebrity - Gold Star Pies. The popular dessert food truck has been serving delicious, homemade, flavorful, sweet artisan pies to the community since 2017.
Gold Star Pie owner, Heather Briggs, and her sister, Tessa Flowers, recently received national attention when they were featured on Good Morning America as one of the "Sweetest Spots in America." The pie-baking sisters were seen making a local favorite, the Palisade Peach pie.
The Good Morning America clip aired on Wednesday, August 31st, and can be seen here (Gold Star Pie coverage starts at 1:43).
This family-operated business not only bakes delicious pies, but they also have a heart for their community. The company routinely donates pies to local non-profit organizations, and most recently, the Colorado Springs chapter of NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) was the lucky recipient.
If you are craving the perfect slice of pie, the truck will be parked at Bread and Butter Neighborhood Market (602 S. Nevada Avenue) in downtown Colorado Springs on Wednesday, August 31st, from 3-6 p.m. and Friday, September 2nd, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
If you prefer to have a whole pie delivered to your house, join the Gold Star Pie of the Month Club and choose a pie from a list of three monthly flavors. The cost is $40 for one pie which includes tax and delivery. If you buy two, it is $70, and three pies are $95. Go ahead and get all three to welcome the weekend with delicious style.
