(Colorado Springs, CO) When was the last time you unleashed your inner Picasso or Michelangelo? If it's been a while, the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center Bemis School of Art might have just what you need to get the creative juices flowing again.

Bemis School of Art offers classes for children, teens, and adults of all skill levels in painting, drawing, sculpting, knitting, ceramics, and more.

There are programs for every schedule including one-day workshops, daily instruction, or one-day-a-week classes on both weekdays and weekends. The small class size and talented instructors provide a great learning environment for novice to experienced artists.

If you are interested in learning more about the art school, pop into the studio on Saturday, August 27th, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. for the free Art Adventure Day.

There will be hands-on art projects and artist demonstrations, and it is an opportunity to explore the studio and learn more about the art school (go here for a list of upcoming classes). This event is free, but pre-registration is required. All ages are welcome.

Those attending Art Adventure Day also receive free admission to the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center. This museum is a lovely, spacious venue with both permanent and temporary exhibits, so there is always something new to see.

One of my favorite exhibits is the Mashburn/Marshall Tactile Gallery, with more than 100 pieces of art that visitors are encouraged to explore through touch.

In addition to the upcoming Art Adventure Day, the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center offers free museum admission on the second Saturday and the third Friday of every month. Advanced registration is preferred.

In August, the museum will have a bonus free admission day on Sunday the 28th in honor of the inauguration of Colorado College's 14th president, L. Song Richardson.
