Register now for these popular Colorado Springs summer camps

(Colorado Springs, CO) Summer is right around the corner, and it's time to think about camps. Many summer camps in Colorado Springs fill up quickly, so register early.

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo

The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo offers several weeks of summer camp for children in Pre-K through 6th grade. These camps are organized by grade level and have a different theme each week. The children will meet animals up close, explore nature, make treats for the animals, and interact with the zookeepers.

The camps are extremely popular, and first, second, and third-grade camps are already SOLD OUT. There is still space available for all weeks in fourth, fifth, and sixth-grade camps. There is one available week in the Pre-K/Kindergarten group (June 27th through July 1st).

The weekly camp cost is $350.75 for non-members and $325.75 for members. Go here for more information and to register.

Fine Arts Center Theater Company

The Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center Theater Company (30 W. Dale Street, Colorado Springs) has summer programs for children and adolescents interested in musical theater, acting, design, dancing, and comedy. These camps frequently sell out.

Budding Thespians is for children ages five through seven and meets June 6th through June 10th. There is a two-hour morning or afternoon session.

Emerging Artists is for ages eight through ten. It is a two-week session from June 13th to June 24th. Students can participate in the morning session (Musical Theater Madness), the afternoon session (Creating Characters), or both sessions for a full-day camp.

Ascending Actors is for ages 11 through 13 and offers two different two-week, full-day programs from June 13th to June 24th (Music and Theater Exploration) and July 25th to August 5th (Art in ACTion).

The Youth Rep Ensemble is a five-week intensive program for ages 14 to 18 that runs from June 27th through July 31st.

Go West Camps

Go West Camps offer a summer program for children entering kindergarten through ninth grade. The campers will do rock climbing, archery, mountain biking, art, fishing, cooking, team building, and more.

The camps are three weeks long from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with pre-camp and post-camp hours at no additional cost. The camp is offered at two locations: Eagleview Middle School and Chinook Trail Middle School.

The camp sessions are:

  • June 6 - June 24
  • June 27 - July 15
  • July 18 - August 5
