What a beautiful day downtown, the flowers at Pike Place Market are spectacular!
The sun was shining like it was nobodies business today, so I took a nice walk on my lunch break. I headed down to Pike Place Market to scope out the flowers. It's peony season! I repeat! It's peony season!Read full story
Deep Sea Sugar & Salt is without a doubt the best cake I've ever had.
Charlie Dunmire started Deep Sea Sugar and Salt by selling slices of her insanely scrumptious cake out of a trailer, at the Georgetown Trailer Park. For those of you not familiar; the Georgetown Trailer Park is tiny flea market, open on the weekends. She has since opened up the cutest little cake shop down in Georgetown. To say there is always a line out the door on the weekends, is the absolute truth.Read full story

The REI Flagship store is incredibly cool and it seems to have no end!
My favorite little girl in the world is turning 5, and I was assigned the duty of buying her a bicycle helmet for her! I want to protect her sweet head, as best as I can. So I instantly went to to the REI Flagship store in downtown Seattle, because I know they only carry the best quality gear. Have you been to this store? It's insane! The fact that it has a rock climbing wall, already makes it unique. But it has a ton of other great, uncommon things about it too!Read full story
A Stitch In Time Alterations rescued me in time for my sister's wedding!
This year my family has one of the most anticipated events of our lives. The baby of the family is getting married! She selected my bridesmaid dress and while I love it, it arrived over 3 inches too long. It also is a "wrap" style dress that tends to start spreading apart up top, in the chest area and it was showing far too much skin. I have never in my life had alterations done on a garment. And not only that, it's rather stressful to have someone start altering a brand new dress after you have already spend a lot of money on it! What if it get's messed up?!Read full story

We took the hours drive to Granite Falls and hiked the Lime Kiln Trail!
I love hiking. I love getting out of the city...and you can feel the air change. It's good for the soul! My friend and I packed up the pooch and decided to drive about an hours drive from the Seattle area to Granite Falls, in the Cascade Mountain Range, to an area called the Rove Canyon Historic Park. We easily located our hike: Lime Kiln Trail! We choose this trail because it has very little elevation gain (625 feet), and the length is about 7 miles roundtrip. Easy! And it also allows dogs, as long as they are leashed. Did I mention there is no fee to park here? That's always a nice surprise!Read full story

She makes you believe you CAN PAINT even when you feel like you surely, can not paint. She cheers you on. She cracks jokes. And she guides you.Read full story
Green Lake Grill is a staple of this area

You wont catch me doing any tricks at the I-5 Colonnade, but it's cool as heck.
Sometimes I wonder how many bicyclists know about the urban bike park under I-5, near Capital Hill. It's SO cool! I mean, I would probably break my neck if I attempted to ride there; but I'm a special breed of clutzy. I think this place is about 7 acres and it's pretty spectacular. There are so many fun twisting paths and jumps. Maybe some day I will be more brave.Read full story
Great to see The Little Ren Hen open for business!
The fact that Seattle even has an old school venue for live country music, kinda thrills me! It's so cute! I was wandering around the Green Lake area and swung in for a beer and watched some of the Mariner's game. They had all my favorite 80's new wave playing when I was there, it's not strictly country at all. Good to see any of these old venues up and operating! p.s. They have pull tabs. p.p.s You're welcome.Read full story
