This year my family has one of the most anticipated events of our lives. The baby of the family is getting married! She selected my bridesmaid dress and while I love it, it arrived over 3 inches too long. It also is a "wrap" style dress that tends to start spreading apart up top, in the chest area and it was showing far too much skin. I have never in my life had alterations done on a garment. And not only that, it's rather stressful to have someone start altering a brand new dress after you have already spend a lot of money on it! What if it get's messed up?!

I love hiking. I love getting out of the city...and you can feel the air change. It's good for the soul! My friend and I packed up the pooch and decided to drive about an hours drive from the Seattle area to Granite Falls, in the Cascade Mountain Range, to an area called the Rove Canyon Historic Park. We easily located our hike: Lime Kiln Trail! We choose this trail because it has very little elevation gain (625 feet), and the length is about 7 miles roundtrip. Easy! And it also allows dogs, as long as they are leashed. Did I mention there is no fee to park here? That's always a nice surprise!

The fact that Seattle even has an old school venue for live country music, kinda thrills me! It's so cute! I was wandering around the Green Lake area and swung in for a beer and watched some of the Mariner's game. They had all my favorite 80's new wave playing when I was there, it's not strictly country at all. Good to see any of these old venues up and operating! p.s. They have pull tabs. p.p.s You're welcome.
