CNTV Nation

A favorite American pastime and a summer tradition for many is the backyard BBQ. We have probably been cooking meat over direct fire for nearly 2 million years!

So how did the American BBQ come about to only limit us to Hamburgers & Hot dogs?

It is time for an upgrade this summer for your next outdoor family get together!..

But charring a burger is pretty easy; whereas creating an exotic Indian dish for the family is not so simple, so therefore; Let's leave it to the professional Chef!

As Chef Charlie says in the CNTV exclusive TV interview:

"Where I come from we eat food as a medicine, over here everybody's eating medicine as a food because they're not able to get proper food in the restaurant, so I wanted to make it a healthy version that's one of the Indian traditional ways of doing it that is interesting. Indian food is a very healthy food, so if you're gonna eat Indian food you have to enjoy the spices & you should know exactly what it is because that's how we eat in India! Every time we get sick- mom will cook some kind of dishes for the sickness & it's amazing!"

When asked was it part of your vision to kind of bring the American backyard right here?

"Yes, basically all this well this was in my eighth year, a dream: I wanted to do that because I used to want to have the freshness of it! More than someone else cooking and bringing it for me I wanted to have the experience of actually cooking it, because none of the Indian restaurants had that kind of experience! I wanted to have interaction.. everybody nowadays is holding the phone and sitting at the dining table & nobody's interacting with anyone I wanted to change that! Everyone is now grilling in the backyard- so why can't you come and eat within MY backyard? I'm inviting my clients to just come and have fun!"
