Blue Bird Bistro: over 20 years of history in Kansas City

CJ Coombs

The Blue Bird Bistro isn't historic, yet, but one could say it started its own history over 20 years ago. This interesting restaurant is located at 1700 Summit in Kansas City, Missouri. If you want a change of pace and want to escape chain restaurants, I suggest this venue.

I have only been here for breakfast and I've never been disappointed. For your farm breakfast, you have egg options, pancakes, and biscuits and gravy. Of course, in addition to the food, it has a wonderful atmosphere.

The Blue Bird Bistro first captures your attention with its colorful blue and yellow entrance. For a communal dining experience, consider the Wednesday Night Table which serves up all things local. This restaurant makes its meals from scratch with food grown and raised by local farmers (sorry for the redundancy, this is one of my favorite venues).

The Blue Bird Bistro is open from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Mondays through Saturdays, and from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Sundays. Visit here to get a feel for the breakfast menu. The Blue Bird Bistro also serves lunch and dinner, and the dress code is casual. There's also a wine list of family-owned and operated wineries.

Not all comfort food has to show up on a silver platter. At Blue Bird Bistro, you get to experience good food and friendly customer service. It will be an experience you won't forget. Visit here for photos shared on Yelp to get your palate ready.
