Candy recall of seasonal peppermint flavored baking chips

According to the Emergency Email and Wireless Network, "Lily's Sweets Voluntarily Recalls Lily's Peppermint Flavor Baking Chips Due to Undeclared Presence of Soy Lecithin."

This recall was announced on January 14, 2022. It's possible the product could contain undeclared soy lecithin. The company associated with this product is Lily's Sweets and the name of the product is Peppermint Flavor Baking Chips.

There are 18,855 cases of the 7 oz. baking chips are being recalled voluntarily because of the presence of soy lecithin which could affect people having a serious allergy or sensitivity to soy.

This product was being offered around the holiday season in the United States solely at Walmart stores. There are no other products of Lily's that are affected in this recall.

The UPC numbers associated with this recall can be found on the company's website.

Consumers were reporting to the company that they were finding white candy pieces mixed with Lily's Peppermint Flavor Baking Chips, which is when it was determined this error had occurred with the co-manufacturer facility. The white candy pieces were disc-shaped and contained "soy lecithin, sugar, and other ingredients that are not present in Lily's Peppermint Flavor chips."

If you have a severe allergy to soy, this product should not be consumed.

Lily's is voluntarily recalling the product out of an abundance of caution.
