The original indictment was brought against Bosnia citizen, Irfan "Jonny" Causevic (age 37), on June 3, 2021. Six other individuals were arrested yesterday morning consisting of Kansas City, Mo. residents, Christopher C. Oregel (age 29), Nicholas "Nicco" Carrillo (age 32), Admir "Babo" Suljic (age 34), and Augustine Charles "Gus" Aviles (age 32). Independence, Mo. resident, Jacob Daniel Craven (age 24) and Parkville, Mo. resident, Micah N. "Nate" Bond (age 36) were also arrested. All men had six-count charges against them in a superseding indictment on October 27, 2021. This superseding indictment includes all seven listed above.

As reported and according to court documents, Causevic's arrest was a result of his agreeing to sell cocaine to a Jackson County Drug Task Force undercover detective. After a first transaction for $3,500, a subsequent transaction for $6,000 was made. Causevic allegedly told investigators that he didn't intend to provide cocaine on the second meeting because he planned to just steal the money.

According to the press release:

The charges contained in this indictment are simply accusations, and not evidence of guilt. Evidence supporting the charges must be presented to a federal trial jury, whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Brad K. Kavanaugh is the assigned prosecutor on this case.
