On October 25, 2021, Huey Ha, otherwise known as Huey Haha on TikTok passed away at the young age of 22. Although Ha’s cause of death hasn’t been officially released, it's been reported that medical responders who arrived at his home could not revive him.
Ha, born July 15, 1999, was a famous content creator and social media influencer. Of Asian descent, he was born in the United States. At a young age, he worked hard to create an online presence. Ha and his partner, Heather Saizon, shared the birth of their daughter (now age 2) referred to by Ha as “Princess” in 2019.
For those not familiar with TikTok, it’s a social media app that allows for short video clips of all types of subjects. Some are informative, others entertaining, and Ha’s consisted of humor. It’s been reported that his TikTok account has been deleted.
Ha’s 300,000 followers on Instagram were very surprised and saddened to learn of his death. Ha started his social media life two years ago by posting short pieces of comedy across TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram. He had close to 450,000 YouTube subscribers, thousands of followers on Instagram, and millions on TikTok.
A post on his account on Instagram read, “Huey Ha, a Stockton, California-based comedian known for posting short video sketches, has died.”
Ha’s friend, Coby Jdn, set up a GoFundMe page to raise money and help pay for his funeral and support his young daughter. As of October 28, the page had raised over $33,000.
According to the New York Post,
Huey joins a disturbing trend of young online personalities with millions of followers who’ve lost their lives in recent months, from 19-year-old Gabriel Salazar’s fiery fatal car crash after a police chase to 18-year-old Timbo the Redneck’s “Big Booty” truck tragedy.
One thing is certain, the news of Ha’s death is all over the internet, a testimony to his popularity.
