As reported by Entrepreneur online on September 29, 2021, in Dog the Bounty Hunter Says He’s Hot on the Trail of Brian Laundrie, “He Was Here for Sure,” the article confirms television personality, Duane Chapman aka Dog the Bounty Hunter, is helping with the search for Brian Laundrie.
Twenty-three-year-old Brian Laundrie, the fiancé of murdered Gabrielle “Gabby” Petito, is allegedly the last known person to see Gabby alive. When interviewed by the media, Dog the Bounty Hunter indicated “hoards” of his fans were reaching out to him to get on board in the search for Laundrie. Dog the Bounty Hunter has received hundreds of anonymous tips. A recent tip allegedly claimed that all three members of the Laundrie family were at the Fort De Soto Park campground located in Pinellas County, Florida, and not just one time, but twice in early September. According to Dog the Bounty Hunter, this tip checked out. The parents were allegedly at the campground between September 1 through September 3, and again on September 6 through September 8. According to Dog the Bounty Hunter, they were on camera as entering the park.
“...Allegedly what we’re hearing is two people left on the 8th, three people came in on the 6th … I think [Brian Laundrie] has been here for sure.”
In Newsweek’s reporting of September 29, 2021, in “Every Recent Reported Sighting of Brian Laundrie,” law force agencies continue to follow up on reported sightings of Brian Laundrie. North Port, Florida police have not had any success in searching the Carlton Reserve. Laundrie’s parents are adamant that Brian took a walk to the reserve on September 14 and has been missing since then.
According to “Brian Laundrie: Attention Turned to Fort De Soto Park After Dog the Bounty Hunter Tip,” the police are not pursuing a search of the Fort De Soto Park, which is Pinellas County Park System’s largest park.
"At this point, we're not conducting an investigation in Fort De Soto," said Travis Sibley, a spokesman from the Pinellas Sheriff's Office told the Tampa Bay Times. "We are not aware of any confirmed sightings of Brian."
Attorney Steven Bertolino who represents Laundrie’s parents stated it is “just wrong” that the media and public are speculating that Brian Laundrie's parents helped their son to avoid being located.
In CNN’s “Attorney for Gabby Petito's family skeptical that fiancé Brian Laundrie's family will help FBI search” published online on September 29, 2021, it’s reported that Petito’s family attorney, Richard Stafford, is doubtful that Brian Laundrie’s family are going to assist the FBI in locating their son. The Laundrie’s attorney, Steven Bertolino, stated "Chris and Roberta Laundrie do not know where Brian is. They are concerned about Brian and hope the FBI can locate him.”
Gabby’s family has created the Gabby Petito Foundation to uplift Gabby’s memory and help other families in a similar circumstance. An additional memory lifter was both families receiving matching “Let it Be” tattoos originally designed by Gabby.
Brian Laundrie's parents state the three Laundrie family members left Florida’s Fort De Soto Park together earlier in September. They were at the park even before it was reported that Gabby Petito was missing. The question is posed, then, were the parents concerned that their son returned in Gabby’s van without her? It’s indicated, however, that the family still isn’t helping with the investigation. The Petito family is saying, "For Brian, we're asking you to turn yourself in to the FBI or the nearest law enforcement agency."
