Euless City Manager pay exceeds $250,000

The City of Euless will hold a special meeting on 1-24-2022 to evaluate Euless City Manager Loretta Getchell, and they will extend her contract for an additional two years tomorrow night.

Getchell received her undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of North Alabama in 1988. After her graduation, she worked in the City of Madison, Alabama, as Assistant Finance Director, before moving to Texas to work at The City of Watauga.

The City of Euless hired Loretta Getchell as a Director of Finance in 1997. She served for seven years before becoming an Assistant City Manager in 2004 and Deputy City Manager in 2007.

Euless City Council hired Loretta Getchell as a City manager in 2015. The council renews her contract every two years. Getchell supervises the operation of the City and the management of its various departments. She works closely with the City Council and the department directors to ensure that Euless offers the highest quality of life to its residents and businesses.

Loretta is a Certified Government Finance Officer, Certified Public Accountant, and a member of Texas's Government Finance Officers Association.

According to, in 2020, Loretta Getchell had an annual salary of $250,199. Loretta Getchell S salary was 63% greater than the average and 69% higher than the median City Manager salary in 2020.

For comparison, Spencer Cronk, Austin City Manager, earns $350,000 a year, and David Cooke, the city manager in Fort Worth, earns $354,326.
