If you are looking for a unique place to visit while in the Branson area, be sure to check out College of the Ozarks. College of the Ozarks is located at Point Lookout, Missouri. It is a private Christian college that offers not only an education but also a great mini vacation destination.
Founded in 1906, this campus is rich in history. Speaking of history, you can enjoy a stroll through the Ralph Foster Musuem which is dedicated to the history of the Ozarks region. A small admissions fee is charged for this museum. But if free is more your thing, there are plenty of free places to visit on the campus including Gaetz Tractor Museum, "Let We Forget" 9/11 Memorial, The Hoge Greenhouses, the panoramic views of Point Lookout, Edwards Mill, Williams Memorial Chapel with 80-foot-high vaulted ceilings & awe-inspiring stained-glass windows, & my favorite, the Scripture Garden.
Once you have worked up an appetite, be sure to visit the award winning Dobyns Dining Room at the Keeter Center. Lunch and dinner are served in a casual yet beautiful dining area, with reservations recommended for dinner. Enjoy from their delicious desert options at Dobyns or treat yourself to a refreshing student-made ice cream at the College Creamery. The Creamery is located just outside of Dobyns Dining Room. All the ice cream is made using the College of the Ozarks' own, fresh dairy cream. You will love it!
Need a longer break from the hustle and bustle of the Branson Strip? Book an unforgettable stay at The Keeter Center's Mabee Lodge. The Mabee Lodge is award winning for a reason & you will be sure to see why upon your stay. Be sure to book far in advance as space is very limited and availability is hard to find on short notice.
No matter which activities you decide to explore and enjoy while visiting College of the Ozarks, you are sure to have an experience you won't forget!
