For the first time ever, the Woodland Park Zoo is holding a Summer Fecal Fest for the opportunity to purchase the highly sought-after "Zoo Doo". Each spring and fall, gardening enthusiasts apply online in hopes of being randomly selected to purchase Woodland Park Zoo’s exotic, highly coveted Zoo Doo. For the first time ever, the zoo is holding a Fecal Fest in the summer!

Starting Monday, June 14 through Friday, July 9, enter online for the chance to purchase Zoo Doo starting at 10 gallons to a maximum of 100 gallons or by the truck load. To enter, fill out the online form at Only one entry per person is eligible for each drawing.

Due to a facilities makeover to the Zoo Doo compost system two years ago, Dr. Doo – aka the Princess of Poo, the GM of BM, or the Captain of Caca – can create Zoo Doo faster than ever before, making it possible to offer the Summer Fecal Fest.

Perfect for growing veggies and annuals, the sweet, aromatic Zoo Doo is composed of species feces contributed by a variety of the zoo’s non-primate herbivores including tapirs, pudus, mountain goats, rhinos, hippos, giraffes, zebras and more.

As a conservation organization, Woodland Park Zoo is committed to reducing its own ecological footprint and educating the community in doing the same. The Zoo Doo program is central to the zoo’s goal of increasing waste diversion from landfill and demonstrating closed loop approach to integrated resource management.

Entries will be randomly selected according to supply and demand. Dr. Doo will contact the lucky drawn entries only. Phone and mail orders can’t be accepted.

At least 6 feet of social distancing will be maintained between staff and customers at all times during pick-ups. Winner emails will include details on these practices to keep customers and staff safe. Visit for information or call 206.625.POOP (7667).
