I wasn't sure what to expect when the Senada Saber showed up at my ebike garage. It featured a rear rack but that was bent heavily in shipping so I removed it and left a cleaner look with just the fenders. The cool blue rims give it a nice splash of color against a matte black frame with orange accents.
It's definitely a looker. But the appeal of this ebike is more about its fat tires and powerful 1000 watt rear hub motor. I was able to hit speeds of 26 MPH while pedaling so this is a Class 3 ebike with a twist throttle on the right hand side.
The one main complaint I have about this ebike is its range however. Due to that powerful motor and 15ah battery I only achieved 20 miles using PAS2/3 in my testing. That's on the low side. This ebike would be much better off with a 20ah battery but since the controller is easily accessible the DIY expert could easily add a second battery to extend range. In fact I am doing just that. My local ebike shop is adding a rear rack/with integrated battery that will ultimately give me 35ah of battery!

The Saber features 26 x 4 inch fat tires, fenders, rack, mechanical disk brakes and a kill switch for the motor. It lumbers into top speeds and you feel the power build as you throttle up on the road.
Steering is heavy and that's probably a good thing for an ebike that weighs about 75 pounds. I think I will use the Saber to do more city commuting especially once I finish my upgrades. Its not an ebike that I plan to take on the trails.
