Schlotzsky’s hosted its grand opening in Naperville on May 20th, bringing its famous sourdough sandwiches back to Illinois.
If anyone remembers correctly Schlotzsky’s have multiple locations back in the early 90s all over the state of Illinois.
The Schlotzsky brand has been around for over 50 yrs. The restaurant started in Austin, TX by Don and Dolores Dissman.
The main headquarters are now located in Atlanta, Ga. The Schlotzsky brand currently has over 330 franchised locations.
I do not know but for whatever reason, they closed every single one of their locations, the last being in Bloomington, IL.
I remember when I was younger that I really enjoyed their sandwiches, especially their sourdough bread. The bread had a very unique texture and flavor almost like soda bread.
They are famous for their turkey sandwich on their famous sourdough bread.
Their return to the state of Illinois will begin with their first store opening in Naperville.
The company has recently made a decision to open more locations across the country.
Many people are reviewing that the initial opening is not going very well with extremely long lines and orders not coming out correctly.
Mistakes with orders should be expected and long lines should also be expected with any new establishments opening in their first week.
I will try to make a review of this establishment very soon as they have just opened in the past week.
As I stated it has been extremely busy to get in.
