I am adding to my food compilation of the “Best food I have ever had”. The next addition has my mouth watering just thinking about it. One of my all-time favorite dishes is Chicken Parmigiana. I think that Francesca’s Amici in Elmhurst makes a near-perfect Chicken Parmigiana.
I grew up in an Italian household, so I know how picky Italians can be when judging other Italian food, especially Italian food that is not made by their mother. I can say that Francesca's Amici really makes it to near perfection.
The piece of chicken that they use is pounded super thin, but it still retains the juiciness of the chicken. Many times when Chicken Parmigiana is pounded too thin it results in very dry chicken.
The breading on the outside is perfectly crispy and still holds its structure, even with the sauce and cheese on top.
I cannot forget to mention the tangy, delicious red sauce covering fresh melted mozzarella. It is a perfect combination.
I really like that Francesca's Amici provides its guests with requests to alter anything on the menu. I like to use this option when I order my Chicken Parmigiana and I get a Pasta Olio on the side. I feel that when I get the Pasta Olio it really makes a delicious contrast to the red sauce on the Chicken Parmigiana.
Francesca’s Amici also has a gorgeous fully stocked bar that is so great to sit and enjoy a cocktail.
The service at Francesca’s Amici is also fantastic and I really love the intimate seating in one of the booths.
The restaurant is somewhat on the smaller side, so I would definitely make a reservation before going here to dine.
The parking at Francesca’s Amici is street parking only, so keep that in mind when planning your dinner date.
I give Francesca’s Amici Chicken Parmigiana a rating of 9 out of 10. It really is something I feel all my readers should go out and try.
