I had recently discovered a very nice breakfast/brunch and lunch location that many of you may have already heard of or been to. The name of the restaurant is Grill 89 in Westmont.
This restaurant is part of the Ditka’s restaurant group and many of the items on the menu you will see at both locations. The menu items at Grill 89 that you will not see at Ditka's are the large variety of salads and sandwiches.
The interior of the restaurant is very comfortable and it has great natural lighting from the large windows that surround the dining and bar area.
The food here is very good. I have been here twice now in the last month. The first time was for brunch and I had the meat lovers omelet. My wife had their Chicken Caesar salad. I must say both were delicious and very good portions. On the second visit, I first had their bang shrimp salad that I ended up not eating because I did not care for it very much. I ended up ordering a patty melt that was very good. My wife had one of their blackened chicken salads that she really liked.
I really love their appetizers here also. I tried their deviled eggs on avocado and it was light and very flavorful.
The waitstaff here was also super friendly and very attentive on both my visits here. Our waitress from our first visit even remembered us and stopped by to say hello.
One thing I’ll add is that the prices here are not horrendous, but they are on par with Ditka’s, which means they are not really cheap.
I must say this is a great location with really good food and service. I definitely think this is a restaurant that you must check out.
I give Grill 89 a rating of 8 out of 10.
