A police officer of the Coral Springs Police Department in a car of the department in a residential area apparently going above the appropriate speed drove into a yard on the right in Sunrise and nearly ran over kids. This event happened in the first week of December 2022. In the video (see video link above), a driver stopped for a school bus whereas the police officer who seemed to approach the vehicle ahead of him did not stop despite the driver in front beeping and supposedly veered into the front yard, nearly striking the siblings who apparently were about to enter the school bus. According to one of the siblings Za'kayla Ford, 11, they all "managed to jump out of the way". According to Denise Ford the mother of the kids, "her baby girl started crying and shaking and her pressure went up". A witness Donna Burrows went to the hospital because she was "so shaken". She verbally expressed her disbelief that the car got so close to hitting her with a cop being a driver. Ford said "It's like the police officer wasn't paying attention, instead of hitting the car, he came up in the yard. The video shows that as witnesses said, the cop still drove on. The cop remains nameless. According to Coral Springs Police Chief Bradley McKeone who did not appear in public, the cop was issued a formal discipline. Denise Ford is convinced the officer should be released from the police department.

Opinion: "It's like the police officer wasn't paying attention", really? The cop should just be fired, correct? So, the car in front of the cop was more important than the kids in their front yard, right? Who would reason like that? Instead of leaping to conclusions just because of the skin color of the people, I used some common sense, analyzing the video. I considered impairment due to drugs or alcohol, and distraction from driving. If the cop were impaired, he wouldn't know what he was doing and it would be on the report. He drove off and it didn't look like he was driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. If he was distracted, he would drive to the left side of the street which had no cars coming the opposite direction. I don't care what the cop looks like but I believe he tried to kill people not just from driving into the lawn but also from the fact that he did not bother to stop and check on them, he drove off. He was not sorry. Why would he do that? The only reason I can think of is their skin color. I doubt he was disciplined as the chief said. I think he belongs behind bars. Cops targeting blacks is nothing strange in America. What do you think?
