THC products cause dogs to become ill or turn violent

As of July 2021, adults age 21 and older in Virginia can legally own or cultivate marijuana. There has been a downside, however, as WDB7 says that reports are increasing about dogs who have become sick from products with Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) the substance that makes humans high.

The American Veterinary Medical Association explains that dogs process THC, differently which has increased the number of canines becoming sick after eating marijuana products that have been dropped on the ground. Symptoms include the animal wobbling when walking or losing its balance and or getting the Zumiez and acting erratically.

Fox 13 reports that in Michigan, a dog who was fed THC gummies attacked his owner and almost killed him. Pet owners are advised to keep pot products out of reach of their dogs if they have them at home. They should also limit walking their animals and when they do use a muzzle.
