Buc-ee's has big plans for Virginia
In March WSET 13 reported that Buc-ee's a popular gas station megastore was planning to open it's first store in Virginia. This initial location in the Commonwealth will be in New Kent County along Interstate 64 at Exit 211. "The store will be 74,000 square feet with 120 fueling positions, 557 parking spaces, 24 Tesla charging spaces, and 10 bus/RV parking spaces".
This location will not open until 2027 but the company said in June they would be breaking ground in the coming months. The new Buc-ee's location is considered the top spot for drivers refueling who are heading to Richmond, Newport News, and Williamsburg. The Texas roadside mega store was founded by Arch "Beaver" Aplin in 1984.
Buc-ee's, recently confirmed to ABC 13 that they are planning a second location in Virginia just south of Harrisonburg off of Interstate 82 at the Mount Crawford exit. No date has been given for when the second store will open. Pronounced Buck-E's the mega store chain plans on building a total of 4 stores in the Commonwealth so be on the lookout for additional updates as they become available.
