Sheep and Goats will be on display this weekend
- The Greatest of All Time Sheep and Goat Festival is returning to the New River Valley for a third year. Jennifer McClellan, president of the New River Valley Sheep and Goat Club shared her enthusiasm with WDBJ 7.
McClellan cares for sheep on her Riner farm, Nolley Wood Farm. She explained to WDBJ7 that sheep are raised and bred for specific reasons. Some are wool producers, others produce meat and the purpose of some sheep is to produce milk for cheese.” She also shared the following.
“We just got an award for Outstanding One Day Event of the Year for 2022. I’m really excited about that and we’re going to do it bigger and better this year,”
The third festival will offer something for everyone
The New River Valley Sheep and Goat Club hosts this event to give back to the community. There will be over 30 sheep and goat breeds this year and they promise something for everyone no matter what their age is. There will be a live auction and storytelling for children plus many vendors.
The 3rd Annual Greatest of All Time Sheep and Goat Festival takes place this Saturday, September 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the New River Valley Fairgrounds in Dublin. Parking and admission will be free.
