Days fans weigh in on another Beyond Salem

On social media Days of Our Lives, fans are being vocal about the changes that have taken place within the last few years. The NBC soap introduced Beyond Salem-a Beyond Salem Christmas episode and Beyond Salem 2 on Peacock. The third installment of the spin-off series brought back Peter Reckell and Kristian Alfonso as Bo and Hope Brady and now the daytime drama has officially moved to the streaming service. Yahoo spoke with Alfonso who shared how she ended up back on the soap she said she was done with in 2020.

The original plan was for Bo and Hope to return again in a third season of Beyond Salem, but according to Alfonso, everything changed when the Powers That Be moved Days from NBC to Peacock. (A third season of Beyond Salem has not officially been confirmed.)We couldn’t possibly leave the audience with that cliffhanger,”

DOOL viewers think Beyond Salem is done

Fans are saying they don't believe there will be another Beyond Salem because the purpose of bringing Bo and Hope back seems to have come to fruition. The first installment was a fantasy taking place across the world that had nothing to do with what was taking place in Salem. The Christmas Special was also a fantasy and reunited cast members who were no longer on DOOL or were not encountering one another on the NBC soap.

Alfonso says of Bo opening his eyes in the final moments of Beyond Salem‘s second season finale. “That would have been so unfair. So that’s another reason why I decided to come back. We owe it to the fans and the show, and to [executive producer] Ken Corday.”3

Fans say they believe Beyond Salem was created because Days of Our Lives excepts were prepping the fans for the move to Peacock which was already in the works. The first two installments were to prepare viewers for number 3 where Bo and Hope came back and the plot was linked to what was currently happening in Salem now the series has been moved to Peacock from NBC. If execs were trying to con fans they did not a very good job and time will tell if there will be a 4th Beyond Salem. At this point, there does not seem to be a need.
