What's going to happen to Brad?

The death of Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) on General Hospital leaves a void in the life of Brad Cooper (Parry Shen). Brad and Britt stood by each other during their worst situations and Dr. Westnbourne even stood up to Mob princess Selina Wu and refused to walk away from her nephew. Now that Britt is gone what will life look like for her bestie who is essentially alone in Port Charles?

Brad really does not have any other family or friends in Port Charles and the Corinthos family has disdain for him because of Wiley Corinthos (VIron Weaver). It's been a while since Bradley has run into anyone from the Corinthios or Quartermaine family but if Shen remains on the scene his character must have some type of storyline. It had appeared at one time that he was going to work for his aunt and be pulled into the mob but that has not happened.

Brad is never shown working so it's not clear exactly what Selina has him doing. Perhaps he might become involved with her poker games where Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) lost so much money she has to give Bando Corbin's (Johnny Wacktor) garage to Wu as payment. WIll the General Hospital writers give Shen a meaningful storyline or will they simply send him on his way when his contract ends or just stop using him? Will Brad become heavily involved in the mob or will he find a way to get out from underneath his aunt's thumb? Stay tuned to GH to find out what comes next.

There are ways to keep sweat bees at bay this spring and summer

There are 13 types of insects from the bee family in Virginia-most notably bumble bees, honey bees, and carpenter bees. There is also the sweat bee which was quite a nuisance when I was a young girl. The Virginia Museum of History suggests that it's time to prepare for the onslaught of stinging insects that will invade during the spring and summer. My middle grandson told me today that the bees are out but what he was seeing was not actually bumble bees. Southwest Virginians have fond memories of Blockbuster Video which is rumored to possibly be making a comeback.

Blockbuster Video was the home away from home for many people in this area and just thinking about it brings back many warm memories. There are two known types of Skunks in Virginia the small spotted skunk that resides in the mountains and the skunk with the white stripe that can be a pest. Big Meadows trails and Rapidan Road remain closed due to wildfire at Shenandoah National Park

Shenandoah National Park blaze cleanup in underway. If you were about to make a trek through Shenandoah National Park this weekend you will have to change your plans. WRIC in Luray is reporting that several areas of the park remain closed due to workers cleaning up after a wildfire burned 13 acres on Thursday. Electricity was cut in the Big Meadow area out of concern that the blaze was close to powerlines and Big Meadows trails as well as Rapidan Road remain closed.

Take a look at the spectacular Northern Light show that graced the Old Dominion on Thursday night

The closest I have ever been to seeing the Northern Lights is in the holiday movie Polar Express. On Thursday night March 23, however, they could be seen in Virginia and surrounding areas. Down on the corner at the fork in the road anything could happen

CCR's Down on the Corner brings back past memories. Today I heard one of my all-time favorite songs: The 1969 hit Down on the Corner by Creedence Clearwater Revival. This brought back memories of a corner in my hometown Blue Ridge Virginia where I have a number of varied memories. If you drive down 460 East about 12 miles from Roanoke you will see Blue Ridge Springs Road on the right. It's about one block long and you come to the corner which was sort of a crossroads. To the left you drove up a hill where the majority of Black families lived and as I mentioned in other articles it was referred to as Ni**er Hill.

Virginia unsolved mystery: The Legend of Bacashaw

Virginia is rich in tall tales and unsolved mysteries. Several Virginia counties were named for British Queen Sophia Charlotte who possibly had African ancestors

Mecklenburg County Virginia as well as Charlottesville and Charlotte County have something in common with several other locations in the Commonwealth. You cannot tell by the names as you can with Prince Edward County and Prince George County but the aforementioned locations were also named in honor of British royalty. They each are a reference to Queen Sophia Charlotte who was possibly descended from African ancestors and considered the first Black British royal.

Specific quotes of Queen Elizabeth II a woman of strong faith and principles

Over the decades I have listened to people say that the royals put on a show of pomp and circumstance, duty, and religious activities and no one knew how they really felt. One member of the royal family, Queen Elizabeth II let the world know that her faith was real. She was outspoken in her beliefs and lived what she preached and I don't recall anyone ever questioning her sincerity about Jesus Christ. Christian faith is strong in Virginia which is an unofficial part of the Bible belt States so her words may give comfort to like-minded people in the state where she spent the most time when in the US.

Flipping houses hurts the least of these among us

An older couple retired couple whose family I have known for 45 years was forced to move last December. I was told they had been in their home for 42 years but were renters. Their landlord died and his children decided to sell the house. The new landlord refused to renew their release and they had 60 days to find somewhere else to live. Spending 4 decades in one home and abruptly having to look for a new one had got to be traumatizing but it was done. I have been told this takes place across the state as well as the US.

Do citizens of the Commonwealth care about the May 6 coronation?. Queen Elizabeth IIshowed up in Virginia 4 times during her reign which is more than any other stateside visit. King Charles III made a stop at a VirginiaJC Penny when he was married to Princess Diana but are citizens of the Commonwealth as a whole invested in the May 6th coronation? Prince Harry's book Spare broke records in the UK and the US but there is no visible record of how many copies were purchased in the Old Dominion.
