Deacon and Bill might battle over Sheila

Those who watch The Bold and the Beautiful know that Shelia Carter (Kimberlin Brown) is playing a dangerous game. She is living with Dollar Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) and telling everyone that she loves him but she cannot stay away from Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan or his place of employment Il Giardino. Deacon has been doing well but his livelihood as well as his life could be on the line because of Sheila.

Dollar Bill has already threatened Deacon to stay away from Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) and he has no idea that Shelia was living with Sharpe during the time she was in hiding. No one knows that the duo was sleeping together and it's clear they still have feelings for one another. If Shelia tells Bill the truth or if he catches a warm moment between Deacon and his new house guest there is sure to be trouble. Bill is not himself and everyone is worried about him because he is protective of Sheila.

Deacon now owns Il Giardino and some spoilers suggest that Dollar Bill might do something that leads to Sharpe ending up with nothing. Sheila always has a master plan and an angle she is playing so who knows what she is up to this time. One thing that is certain is that Bill will eventually see her with Deacon and the sparks will fly. Both Kanan and Brown are on contract so they will be hanging around LA for a while. Blockbuster Video was the home away from home for many people in this area and just thinking about it brings back many warm memories. Big Meadows trails and Rapidan Road remain closed due to wildfire at Shenandoah National Park

Shenandoah National Park blaze cleanup in underway. If you were about to make a trek through Shenandoah National Park this weekend you will have to change your plans. WRIC in Luray is reporting that several areas of the park remain closed due to workers cleaning up after a wildfire burned 13 acres on Thursday. Electricity was cut in the Big Meadow area out of concern that the blaze was close to powerlines and Big Meadows trails as well as Rapidan Road remain closed.

Take a look at the spectacular Northern Light show that graced the Old Dominion on Thursday night

The closest I have ever been to seeing the Northern Lights is in the holiday movie Polar Express. On Thursday night March 23, however, they could be seen in Virginia and surrounding areas. Down on the corner at the fork in the road anything could happen

CCR's Down on the Corner brings back past memories. Today I heard one of my all-time favorite songs: The 1969 hit Down on the Corner by Creedence Clearwater Revival. This brought back memories of a corner in my hometown Blue Ridge Virginia where I have a number of varied memories. If you drive down 460 East about 12 miles from Roanoke you will see Blue Ridge Springs Road on the right. It's about one block long and you come to the corner which was sort of a crossroads. To the left you drove up a hill where the majority of Black families lived and as I mentioned in other articles it was referred to as Ni**er Hill.

Several Virginia counties were named for British Queen Sophia Charlotte who possibly had African ancestors

Mecklenburg County Virginia as well as Charlottesville and Charlotte County have something in common with several other locations in the Commonwealth. You cannot tell by the names as you can with Prince Edward County and Prince George County but the aforementioned locations were also named in honor of British royalty. They each are a reference to Queen Sophia Charlotte who was possibly descended from African ancestors and considered the first Black British royal.

Specific quotes of Queen Elizabeth II a woman of strong faith and principles

Over the decades I have listened to people say that the royals put on a show of pomp and circumstance, duty, and religious activities and no one knew how they really felt. One member of the royal family, Queen Elizabeth II let the world know that her faith was real. She was outspoken in her beliefs and lived what she preached and I don't recall anyone ever questioning her sincerity about Jesus Christ. Christian faith is strong in Virginia which is an unofficial part of the Bible belt States so her words may give comfort to like-minded people in the state where she spent the most time when in the US.

Flipping houses hurts the least of these among us

An older couple retired couple whose family I have known for 45 years was forced to move last December. I was told they had been in their home for 42 years but were renters. Their landlord died and his children decided to sell the house. The new landlord refused to renew their release and they had 60 days to find somewhere else to live. Spending 4 decades in one home and abruptly having to look for a new one had got to be traumatizing but it was done. I have been told this takes place across the state as well as the US.
