General Hospital Spoilers: Anna gets a taste of her own medicine from Valentin

Anna is on the defensive in Paris

General Hospital fans will recall that Anna Devane ( Finola Hughes) recently reconnected with former lover Andre Maddox (Anthony Montgomery). Viewers could see that Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) was clearly uncomfortable because of the duo's past history. Andre flirted with Anna a little bit and they both enjoyed getting under Valentin's skin-now spoilers say Ms. Devane will realize that turnabout is fair play. Anna will not like it but soon she will obtain a dose of her own medicine.

Vanna will travel to Paris where they run into a young French boy portrayed by Gabriel Sky who is the real-life brother of Joiphelle Love who plays Violet Finn on General Hospital. Rene (Maria Tornberg) is an old friend (possibly an old flame) of Valentin's and he will seek her help just as Anna trusted Andre. Ms. Devane will experience the same emotions of distrust and a bit of jealousy as Valentin did towards Dr. Maddox.

The duo will find a compound where they believe Victor Cassadine is holding Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) but they are unable to breach the fortress. Rene might be instrumental in assisting them and Anna will find out what it feels like to be on the other side of the coin. Lucy has been away for quite a while so General Hospital fans are hoping this is not a wild goose chance and she is found by Vanna soon. GH viewers believe it's time for this storyline to wrap up.

This weekend there will be a community Easter Eggstravaganza taking place in Lynchburg Virginia and this brings to mind one of my favorite Spring/Easter movie scenes from the original Steel Magnolia starring Julia Roberts, Darryl Hannah, and Virginia native Shirley McClaine. FloydFest forever home and 2023 festival may be in jeopardy

FloydFest is a 5-day celebration of music & art that began in 2002 and has taken place in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains Floyd in Southwest Virginia for 20 years. The event is a local favorite and well attended each year until now. The website has a message that basically says that due to circumstances ( final permitting and logistical factors beyond their control) "see you in 2024" which is upsetting concertgoers who were looking to attend the 2023 festival.

Could Greyhound possibly leave the Roanoke Valley?

The Greyhound Bus Station was once a staple in the Roanoke Valley for those who di not have transportation. people living in all areas of Botetourt County as well as Montvale and Bedford County used this mode of transportation to go to and fro from Roanoke to Lynchburg and beyond. Virginia black walnuts have a rich history

I was a little girl during the 1960s my grandmother would take the neighborhood children to collect walnuts from trees in a specific location in Blue Ridge Virginia. Black walnut trees were located in a wooded area less than a mile from route 460 East, near the end of Blue Ridge Springs Road close to the railroad, the sulfur spring, and the mountain. We filled up several bags from the nuts that and fallen to the ground and when we got home the fun began. We would remove the green casing to get the walnut shell and our hands would be darkened from touching those that were not fully ripe.

The tradition of the sun dancing or shouting at sunrise on Easter

Why does the sun appear to dance on Easter morning?. It is customary for local churches in Roanoke and Botetourt County as well as those around the world to hold Easter Sunrise services to acknowledge the women the Bible says found Christ's tomb empty at sunrise. The tradition is for various churches to come together under one roof and prior to COVID, the host church would have breakfast. When I was a child local churches gathered in Glade Creek Baptist Church Cemetary and went back to the host church that year for breakfast but I never heard anything about the Easter morning sun dancing until about 5 years ago.

There have been several missing teens in the Roanoke Valley and the surrounding area since January, First, there was autistic teen Elijah Campbell who was later found safe, and next Allaynah Myers. who went missing in 2019 but was later found safe. The Chincoteague Pony an Assateague wild pony now represents the State of Virginia

Native species of Wild Bull Elk are returning to Virginia from the brink of extinction

The Wild Bull Elk once roamed the hillsides in Virginia. Deer, Elk, Moose, Antelope', and Reindeer all come from the Cervidae family so the next time you hear the song Home on the Range consider that there was more than one type of this breed playing along with the buffalo. " Oh give me a home where the buffalo roam and the deer and the antelope play". Although they are from the same family the Wild Bull Elk is much larger than deer and now has been brought back to Virginia from the brink of extinction.

Beitzah a roasted hard boiled egg is an important part of the Passover meal

There are two traditions that take place during the Spring and sometimes they overlap. Ressurection Sunday observes the day believers in Jesus say He rose from the dead. It is on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Spring Equinox so the date fluctuates. Passover is based on the Jewish calendar and falls on the 15th of Nissan and can come before during or just after Easter. There are ways to keep sweat bees at bay this spring and summer

Paper wasps and yellowjackets are often confused with one another but there are major differences.

The Virginia Museum of History suggests that it's time to prepare for the onslaught of stinging insects that will invade during the spring and summer. My middle grandson told me today that the bees are out but what he was seeing was not actually bumble bees. It's common in this neck of the woods for people to lump the stinking varmints together and two such pests that often are included under the bee umbrella are the paper wasp and the yellowjacket (also yellow jacket).

Southwest Virginians have fond memories of Blockbuster Video which is rumored to possibly be making a comeback.

There are two known types of Skunks in Virginia the small spotted skunk that resides in the mountains and the skunk with the white stripe that can be a pest. Big Meadows trails and Rapidan Road remain closed due to wildfire at Shenandoah National Park

Shenandoah National Park blaze cleanup in underway. If you were about to make a trek through Shenandoah National Park this weekend you will have to change your plans. WRIC in Luray is reporting that several areas of the park remain closed due to workers cleaning up after a wildfire burned 13 acres on Thursday. Electricity was cut in the Big Meadow area out of concern that the blaze was close to powerlines and Big Meadows trails as well as Rapidan Road remain closed.
