Laura's curiosity gets her in trouble

Spoiler alerts from General Hospital Blog are saying that Holly Sutton (Emma Samms) will soon take Laura Collins as her hostage. General Hospital fans know that Laura caught on quickly that things were not as they seem with Sutton and she told Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) that Holly was probably working for Victor. Robert set a trap and the woman he loves walked right into it.

Last week on General Hospital it appeared that Holly drugged Robert and stole the Ice Princess necklace but some spoilers suggest she and Scorpio are actually working together to bring down Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy). During the next week, Laura will be keeping her eye on Holly and will more than likely find out something she is not supposed to know. Holly is afraid to cross Victor because he is keeping her son Ethan Lovett (Nathan Parsons) as his hostage.

Holly ditches Laura

Victor ordered his thugs to shoot someone who had a bag over their head as Holly watched and she believes it is her sister Poloma. This is why she feels certain that "Heir Cassadine" will do the same thing to her son. Holly hates that she shot Lucy Coe ( Lyn Herring) and framed Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) for the crime. She will not like holding Laura as a prisoner but she will do whatever Victor tells her in order to guarantee her son's safety.

Celeb Dirty Laundry says that Holly will eventually ditch Laura and take off alone to a remote cabin but doesn't say what happens to the Port Charles mayor. Robert and the GCPD will show up and the cabin will explode. Are Robert and Holly working together to dupe Victor and could they be faking her death with the explosion Be sure to tune in next week to General Hospital to find out how all of this plays out.

Big Meadows trails and Rapidan Road remain closed due to wildfire at Shenandoah National Park

Shenandoah National Park blaze cleanup in underway. If you were about to make a trek through Shenandoah National Park this weekend you will have to change your plans. WRIC in Luray is reporting that several areas of the park remain closed due to workers cleaning up after a wildfire burned 13 acres on Thursday. Electricity was cut in the Big Meadow area out of concern that the blaze was close to powerlines and Big Meadows trails as well as Rapidan Road remain closed.

Take a look at the spectacular Northern Light show that graced the Old Dominion on Thursday night

The closest I have ever been to seeing the Northern Lights is in the holiday movie Polar Express. On Thursday night March 23, however, they could be seen in Virginia and surrounding areas. If like me you missed this beautiful site you can watch videos that were taken that are shared here. WTOP News is reporting that the spectacle lit up the skies and may possibly be seen again on Friday if the weather permits.

Down on the corner at the fork in the road anything could happen

CCR's Down on the Corner brings back past memories. Today I heard one of my all-time favorite songs: The 1969 hit Down on the Corner by Creedence Clearwater Revival. This brought back memories of a corner in my hometown Blue Ridge Virginia where I have a number of varied memories. If you drive down 460 East about 12 miles from Roanoke you will see Blue Ridge Springs Road on the right. It's about one block long and you come to the corner which was sort of a crossroads. To the left you drove up a hill where the majority of Black families lived and as I mentioned in other articles it was referred to as Ni**er Hill.

Several Virginia counties were named for British Queen Sophia Charlotte who possibly had African ancestors

Mecklenburg County Virginia as well as Charlottesville and Charlotte County have something in common with several other locations in the Commonwealth. You cannot tell by the names as you can with Prince Edward County and Prince George County but the aforementioned locations were also named in honor of British royalty. They each are a reference to Queen Sophia Charlotte who was possibly descended from African ancestors and considered the first Black British royal.

Specific quotes of Queen Elizabeth II a woman of strong faith and principles

Over the decades I have listened to people say that the royals put on a show of pomp and circumstance, duty, and religious activities and no one knew how they really felt. One member of the royal family, Queen Elizabeth II let the world know that her faith was real. She was outspoken in her beliefs and lived what she preached and I don't recall anyone ever questioning her sincerity about Jesus Christ. Flipping houses hurts the least of these among us

An older couple retired couple whose family I have known for 45 years was forced to move last December. I was told they had been in their home for 42 years but were renters. Their landlord died and his children decided to sell the house. The new landlord refused to renew their release and they had 60 days to find somewhere else to live. Spending 4 decades in one home and abruptly having to look for a new one had got to be traumatizing but it was done. I have been told this takes place across the state as well as the US.

Virginia native Wayne Newton has reached an important milestone

Entertainer Wayne Newton is a world-renowned singer and a popular singer in Los Vegas who has had a number of hit records. He is best known for his first big hit singleDanke Schoen which was released on June 17, 1963, and climbed to number 3 on the charts. Newton was 21 at the time and singing with his older brother Jerry Newton and they were billed as the Newton Brothers. Downtown Vinton is at a crossroads due to a 2022 fire

On my last excursion to Downtown Roanoke, I wanted to cry because of what once was. As a little girl holding my grandmother's hand, I was fascinated by the tall buildings and the businesses that were inside. Memories came back as I passed familiar locations that now are empty or house something new. Downtown Vinton may cause a similar reaction now that 4 to 7 buildings might be demolished because of a 2022 fire.

The Resurrection of Christ is observed on the first Sunday after the first full moon after the Spring Equinox on March 21- therefore Easter Sunday can come anywhere from late March until mid-April. Good Friday is the date many Christians believe Christ was crucified although not everyone agrees. On Good Friday, March 22, 1622, more than likely as some in the Virginia colony of Jamestown were preparing to celebrate Easter they instead witnessed a massacre where several hundred died.
