Amanda has been MIA on Y&R

Michael Morgan (Amanda Sinclair) joined The Young and the Restless as Hilary Curtis in 2014 and left in 2018 during what has been referred to as the reign of terror of then head writer Mal Young. Around the same time Morgan left the soap, Eileen Davidson (Ashley Abbott) said she was retiring and Christel Khalil (Lily Winters) went to recurring status. All three women returned between 2019 and after John Griffith became executive producer/head writer but Morgan came back as the twin sister of Hilary who died in a car wreck.

The actress has not been on The Young and the Restless since August 5th and eagle-eyed viewers have noticed she is no longer in the opening credits. A few weeks back spoilers said Mishael was on an extended vacation and taking some me time. A recent social media post where Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers) said she had enjoyed working with Morgan for the past three years sounded like a goodbye and led fans to suspect that Amanda's portrayer was no longer on the CBS soap.

Mishael Morgan opens up about her current status

Now Morgan is speaking out to set the record straight and says she will be on recurring status and just finished taping some scenes for The Young and the Restless. The actress says she appreciates her time on Y&R, it feels like home, and she is thankful to be welcome there. She went on to say she desires to mix things up and try her hand at other opportunities. She emphasized that although she was done taping she is not done with life in Genoa City.

Michelle Morgan did not say if she had any specific plans and her IMDb only show two projects outside of The Young and the Restless in the last seven years. She played a voodoo witch doctor in Night Cries in 2015 and portrayed Amber in the television movie Hometown Holiday in 2018.
