The air quality in Virginia has improved compared to other areas of the east coast that are still covered in the smoky haze from Canadian wildfires. Residents, however, are still being warned not to spend too much time outdoors and to take precautions when they do.

The anima was seen near 10th Street Northwest a few days later and about a week after the first sighting he was spotted near Central Baptist Church. There has been no news about the local bear being caught or any additional sightings.

Dr. Charles Wood with Old Dominion Animal Hospital told NBCNews 29 WVIR that he is seeing an increase in dogs who are dealing with the same peculiar problem-they have gotten into their owner's stash of edible marijuana. The veterinarian admitted this is not something that is necessarily surprising him, but that does not make the issue any less dangerous.

The smoke from the Canadian wildfires has settled into the Commonwealth and affecting summer camps and outdoor workers temporarily. In Southwest Virginia, there is a Code Orange warning and residents are told to remain inside as much as possible for the next few days until the smoke lifts.

Canada's wildfire smoke continues moving East. Smoke from the Canadian wildfires is causing hazardous conditions across the East Coast of the US and Southwest Virginia has been under a Code Orange air quality alert since Thursday afternoon. This means it’s unhealthy for sensitive individuals like older adults, children, or anyone with asthma, or heart or lung conditions to be outside. When one of my cousins in Baltimore posted on Facebook a few days ago that the sky was filled with smoke from the wildfires in Canada I had no idea the smoke would continue to travel and eventually affect this area but here we are.

The Virginia Department of Health has issued an advisory notice according to WDBJ 7 for swimmers because "unprecedented amounts of dangerous algal blooms" have been found in certain parts of the water at SML. Boaters, fishers, and Kayakers are not in any danger as long as they wash after with clean water.

By May 7. 2025 a REAL ID will be necessary in order to enter federal buildings, military bases, and also for domestic travel. The new form of identification is optional but anyone traveling on a domestic flight or going to a military base must have one or they will be denied. In September of last year (2022) a black panther was filmed in the Commonwealth but there is no location listed in the video so its not clear if it was Southwest, Southside, Northern, Central or some other part of the state.

If you have been following Ingo Rademacher's situation for the past year and a half and wondered about his lawsuit there is now an update. Rademacher who portrayed Jasper “Jax” Jacks on the soap filed a lawsuit against ABC in December 2021 after he was fired for not complying with the COVID mandate. Rademacher said he should have been exempt from getting the vaccine because of his religious beliefs but Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Stephen Goorvitch ultimately ruled in favor of ABC.

The name comes from the fact that as a group these animals resemble an 18rh century Portuguese battleship. Man o’ war have an inflated air sack that is used to keep the sea creatures on top of the water and helps them navigate the oceans. Virginia Beachgoers from the Outer Banks to the Chesapeake Bay are reporting seeing these organisms whose sting is pretty painful but not deadly to humans.
