Stopped in Stable Hand for a coffee and bite to eat
This was my first time visiting here for a business meeting and it is a newly opened establishment in Southend. They serve coffee tea some pastries and some hot breakfast foods. They had a very limited menu to choose from but things that sounded good. There also was NO pastries for the most part and nothing really struck me to purchase and the case was pretty empty so makes it not exciting. They only had honey liquid for my tea and no-sugar options like Sweet n Low which there should be. I ordered what sounded great a Sourdough bread with salt butter and jam week the bread was cut a bit too thick and was cold!! Should be HOT and lightly toasty. The salt butter was nice and the jam tastY but overall not good due to the bread preparation. My associate got the same thing and felt the same way.

First time here and what a nice place this is. Great menu there is brunch, snacks, burgers, sandwiches, southern favorites, full bar, beers and much more. I had the french toast which was very tasty and a plentiful portion with maple syrup, whipped cream and some strawberries along with a side of BACON! My associate had the grits and a burger combo which he loved and again good portions. Our server was on point, helpful, attentive and all in all a good experience. Not super crazy busy, lots of parking, fun atmosphere and clean restrooms. I would recommend to anyone wanting to come try this spot in a lovely area of town.

Ok I LOVE TIFFF'S TREATS!! Not only are the cookies great with a lot of variety and goodies in them, but they also arrive HOT and stay warm for about 2 hours! I don't know how they do it, but every time the cookies taste like they are fresh out of the oven. During the week, there's a good chance you can get them delivered the same day. Delivery is seamless and no contact. You do have the option to pick a window of time for delivery.

We enjoyed our evening here for a birthday group of 12. Scallops were wonderful! $15 for 3 is pricey but worth it, perfectly cooked with amazing garlic lemon butter sauce, dip the bread in it! Dates wrapped in bacon stuffed with goat cheese was lovely. Crispy beef was great. Croquetas were crunchy and filling. Paella was just ok. Expected a different flavor. Meat in paella was cooked perfect. I didn't see it on the menu but we had sliced pork from pigs who only ate acorns it was awesome! Sangria was nice and sweet.

Read full storyTell you my true feelings for Eight and Sand after two times visits
Visited Eight and Sand two different times to give myself some time to craft this review. The first visit was on a very busy Sunday morning (around 11ish) after hiking Crowder's Mtn. We went on a whim and we totally lucked out with a parking space out front and we must have just got in in-between the brunch rush. Every table was taken, but I slowly figured out that the line up front (to order) really dictates the pace of people ordering and eating. You may spend a lot of time waiting in line, but it helps with getting people up and out of tables that are quickly bused and ready for you to sit down.

Kat definitely took care of my "quarantine hair"... which was crazy cause I usually get my hair cut every 2-3 weeks because it grows so fast. I made my appointment online (via Reserve by Google) and was good to go. They have clearly stated their COVID-19 precautions on their website, in their instagram, and even send you a separate email to confirm your appointment and list down all the precautions. I strongly suggest making an appointment, though they do take walk-ins. Their waiting area has been blocked off except for 2 seats. You are required to wear a mask at all times (stylists too) and there's a little extra time in between clients where the stylists disinfect their areas once they are done. Shampoos are required so for their employees protection and to start with a "clean slate" (but I think it's done at a discounted rate for now).

This is such a well-done festival. Seamless, never oversold, and just an overall enjoyable experience every time. Shew, it was hot this year. Luckily, there was the cider hill which was the perfect place to find some shade. On top of that, I love cider so it really was the perfect spot for me. Shout out to Red Clay who had some delicious offerings this year. That jalapeno one was amazing.

I've never seen a business owner so proud of his reviews and I absolutely love it. He deserves it. I am a huge Capishe fan. I usually always get pizza, but I find myself drooling when I see other tables who have ordered the pasta dishes.

I really wanted to love this place. I can't even begin to tell you how excited I was for Optimist Hall to open, especially Bao and Broth. I've waited a few weeks to write this review because I thought maybe I just set my expectation level too high. Talking to friends and reading the other reviews, that's not the case.

That moment when you get on Instagram and see that the coffee truck you've been wanting to try is just 1.5 miles from your house- now THAT'S a damn good morning. I have been stalking Detour for a while now. I caught up with them on a Tuesday morning while they were posted up at the Venue Apartments. Along with their regular menu of locally roasted coffee & espresso and hand-crafted beverages, they had two special menus for summer and fun, 90's inspired drinks. I got the Boyz 2 Mint from the 90s menu. It was perfect.

Had to check out the "new kid on the block" in Southend. Although, opening a restaurant in the middle of a pandemic takes some guts, I totally understand since it takes so much planning to open a restaurant.

A lovely late lunch today that after all this food ended up being our early dinner too. Sitting outside on the patio was comfortable, even though the patio really only has a nice view of the parking lot.

I love that they actually have a cortado on the menu. Some places can still make one when it's not on the menu but they actually have it listed. Awesome. A cortado is half espresso and half steamed (not foamed) milk. That makes it different than a latte and a cappuccino. I find the flavor to be richer and tastier.

This event was fun and I love that we each received two drink tickets to try out literally whatever we wanted. Which was perfect for me because it took 3 drinks to find my drink...lol. So I ended having 4 drinks, 2 I bought on my own. And while they were all good, I feel like they all could have been better and stronger! I know this is the first night for these bartenders here but hopefully they work out all the kinks before this bad boy gets up and running this week. My third drink was "hot in the sun" all the ingredients looked fab except the gin so I asked if I could sub tequila and they did no questions asked! So I order another one eventually, but by a different bar tender and the drink came out tasting so different, not good. So I went back to the original guy to ask if he could make it over for me and he did, thankfully! Which I truly appreciate.

So happy! The original DQ from the central avenue in Plaza opened back up in the east side crossing area recently. The new location is new and trendy with tv screen menus. Small store but big enough for a few tables inside and a ice box for to go treats and cakes. We have been a couple of times now, and all the employees seem friendly and made our order right quickly. We met the owners on the grand opening day and they were very kind and had giveaways etc. Welcome to the neighborhood! We Will def be back soon.
